A boutique defense litigation law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant to support its growing team of attorneys and paralegals. This is a strong opportunity for someone with 2+ years of legal support experience who enjoys staying organized, working directly with clients, and helping keep a busy legal team running efficiently. What You’ll Do: Conduct client intake interviews and gather important case details Handle record retrieval requests and follow up with providers, courts, and agencies Support attorneys and paralegals with case file management Maintain documents and records in LeanLaw, Dropbox, and Clio Draft routine correspondence and assist with legal documentation Manage calendars, deadlines, and scheduling Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff as needed Help keep files organized and matters moving forward efficiently Requirements: 2+ years of experience in a legal assistant, legal secretary, or administrative support role Law firm experience preferred Flexibility to adjust schedule based on attorney and paralegal needs Experience with client intake and record retrieval Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail What They’re Looking For: Someone dependable, proactive, and professional Comfortable working in a smaller, team-oriented office environment Strong technology skills and ability to learn new systems quickly Experience with LeanLaw, Dropbox, or Clio is a plus Someone who takes initiative and helps reduce administrative workload for attorneys and paralegals Why This Role: Join a respected litigation firm where your work will have an immediate impact.
