As a Campus Security Guard within the Campus Police Department, you'll help protect the people, property, and legacy that make SC State a place where students thrive.Your Role on CampusWorking full-time across scheduled shifts, you'll be a visible and trusted presence across the SC State campus. Your day-to-day will include:Patrolling campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and residence halls to deter and respond to security incidentsMonitoring access points and enforcing university policies to maintain a safe environment for students, faculty, and staffResponding to calls for assistance, documenting incidents accurately, and liaising with local law enforcement when requiredSupporting crowd management at campus events, including evening and weekend functionsWhat You BringHigh school diploma or GED equivalentCurrent or ability to obtain a South Carolina Security Guard registrationValid South Carolina driver's license with a clean driving recordPrior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related public safety roleStrong written and verbal communication skills for accurate incident reportingAbility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidaysWhy SC StateThere's a distinct sense of purpose that comes with working at South Carolina State University.
