Staff Accountant

Job Summary
This role supports the accounting and finance function by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close activities, supporting budgeting efforts, and helping ensure the integrity of financial reporting. The position serves as a key link between day-to-day accounting activity and broader financial analysis while working closely with leadership to support business operations and reporting needs.

Responsibilities
*Review and support daily accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, fixed assets, and general ledger activity.
*Monitor financial records for discrepancies, unusual activity, or coding issues and assist with corrective actions.
*Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany balances.
*Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues while ensuring deadlines are met.
*Support month-end close activities and prepare financial schedules and reporting packages for management review.
*Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, including budget tracking and variance analysis.
*Analyze budget-to-actual results and provide insight into significant variances and trends.
*Support preparation of financial statements and related reporting schedules.
*Assist with audit preparation, tax support, and requests from external accounting professionals.
*Maintain lease accounting records and support compliance with applicable accounting standards.
*Participate in process improvements, accounting system enhancements, and internal control initiatives.
*Support regulatory reporting, lender reporting, and other financial reporting requirements as needed.

Requirements
*Able to Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, onsite schedule
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
*3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
*Experience reviewing accounting transactions and supporting general ledger activities.
*Strong understanding of account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and financial reporting.
*Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
*Experience with Sage 100 / MAS 90 is a plus.
*Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
